Background
Topside Marketing was founded in October of 1997 by John M. Robertson. As Marketing Manager for a technology company in downtown Seattle, Topside Marketing was a part-time enterprise at first, intended as a vehicle for John's outside consulting projects. As news of John's results in marketing consulting spread through word of mouth and more clients came to Topside Marketing, John left his "day job" to pursue Topside Marketing full time in July of 1999. He soon needed help to staff and administrate the projects that were being requested by Topside's growing client list. The company was reorganized as a Limited Liability Company in October of 2003.

Today Topside Marketing LLC has both well-established companies and several startups as clients and serves companies located in the Pacific Northwest technology community (Seattle, Tacoma and Portland areas) as well as in the San Jose/Silicon Valley area. Although much larger today, Topside is still a family-owned and operated business. In addition to our full time staff, our virtual staff of outside consultants and freelancers are available to assist on larger projects as needed. Although we have historically specialized in small-to-mid-size companies, today we can service any size client with precision and dispatch. 

With the recent addition of TOPSIDE SOLUTIONS, our Value-added Reseller and IT Consulting Group, we assist businesses of all sizes in managing their IT and telecom resources effectively. A natural outgrowth of the marketing consulting work we have done for technology companies for many years, TOPSIDE SOLUTIONS specializes in server, network and resource management product solutions for IT networks and data centers.
